4 High Protein Smoothies You Should Try

New year, new smoothies! Working from home has presented some interesting challenges for me. While I don’t have office treats like donuts or bagels to tempt me, I sit only 10 feet away from my refrigerator. I find myself mindlessly snacking throughout the day. So that brings me to Be Well by Kelly, who has seriously upped my smoothie game!

Kelly LeVeque is a holistic nutritionist, and her “Fab Four” formula offers blood sugar balancing smoothie recipes with enough protein, fat, and fiber to keep you full for hours. And the recipes are delicious!

Here are four smoothies I’m loving this month:


Banana Bread

This recipe is my favorite! I swear this smoothie tastes like Butterfinger – nutty and smooth, like a dessert. I love to top it with cinnamon, nutmeg and walnuts. It keeps me full for at least four hours.

Blueberry Coconut Creme

This recipe is good and a little different! The tart of the blueberries balances the sweet coconut. I like to top it with grain-free granola – the added crunch is delicious.

Creamy Green Apple

This recipe was not my favorite, buuuuuut you know it’s good for you and I felt so energized afterwards! All the green things – spinach, green apple, avocado. Kept me full for hours.

Key Lime Pie

Ok – I went a little rogue! I took a recipe from a friend and added my own spin to it. If you like key lime pie, this smoothie is heaven. It tastes like summer.

Recipe by me:

  • 1 cup coconut milk (I use Califa)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein (I use Garden of Life)
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 tbsp flax
  • Tiny drop of honey
  • Four ice cubes
  • Grain-free granola for topping (I use Paleonola Pina Colada)
