Happy February! We’re still early into the new year, so I hope you haven’t lost any motivation with your goals or what you want to achieve in 2019.
It’s the month of love, and if you know me I’m all about the self love. I’ve come to understand that loving myself equates to me loving my body – nourishing it, taking care of it. Do whatever you need to do every day to show up for yourself. While I try to eat healthy on a regular basis, I still have a sweet tooth. And damn it, Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to “treat yourself.” Any other Parks & Rec fans out there?
Here are three recipes that give you an in to “treat yourself,” but without any guilt! All the decadence without the chemicals or highly-processed ingredients.
Nut Butter Cookie Dough Bites
I said it once and I’ll say it again: I don’t care who you are, but you’ve never truly lived until you’ve tried almond butter cookie dough balls by Angela Liddon. Angela Liddon, known as “Oh She Glows,” is a vegan recipe goddess. The best part about this recipe is you likely have all the ingredients in your kitchen already. The second best part? It takes 10 minutes. The recipe makes 14 small bites, but you can make them as big or small as you want. The recipe is also gluten-free, raw/no bake, soy-free and refined sugar free, so you can get over it. Eat cookie dough!

Grain-Free Sugar Cookies
These cookies were delicious. Funny enough the only honey in my pantry had a bit of lemon in it, so these cookies tasted a bit like lemon poppy seed! Also I could not find raw cacao butter for the life of me, so I opted for a greek yogurt frosting instead. Also failed with heart cookie cutters, so I went with stars. 🙂
This was a fun twist on chocolate covered strawberries. I loved this recipe idea – you can really make it your own! I opted for granny smith apples (less carbs), coconut flakes, walnuts, raisins, strawberries and some drizzled chocolate. Eat them right away or put away in the refrigerator to enjoy later!
